Narrative
by Norm Robertson II, "Narrative Family History"
Dix's father, Henry James Strong, was born in Englad (I have no record of where or when) about 1855. As an adult he used the name Harry Strong. As a young man he emigrated to London, Ontario, Canada. While he was there he became a member of the "London Old Boys," something he remained proud of. He emigrated to the United States and came to chicago, probably about 1876. He also leaned to be a piano tuner as that was his occupation on Dix's birth certificate. He bacame a naturalized citizen but never voted.
