Deceased Name: DR. JESSE L. SERBY

Dr. Jesse L. Serby, 89, formerly of 500 Sycamore Terrace, DeWitt, died Saturday at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Canton, Mass.

He was a physician with offices at 3101 S. Salina St. until his retirement in 1982. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Syracuse University and a 1928 honors graduate of Syracuse University School of Medicine. He was a resident in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, and had served on the staffs of Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital and Community-General Hospital.

During World War II, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, Philo-Mt. Sanai Masonic Lodge, Tigris Shrine and the Tigris Chanters. He was a member of the Onondaga County Medical Society, the New York State Medical Society and the American Medical Association.

Surviving are his wife, Anna; a son, Dr. Charles W. of Fairfield, Conn.; two daughters, Naomi S. Mormol of Columbus, Ohio, and Carolyn S. Weinstein of Westwood, Mass.; a brother, Victor of Sylvan Beach; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Burial is in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St., Syracuse.

Contributions may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun.
