From phone conversation with Norm Robertson II, 15 May 2010:
They were a fairly wealthy family in Wisconsin and Illinois.
One of them was the founder of the Chicago Public School District's vocational school. He was in this position with the school district in the mid-1930s. He may also have been the one to fund John W. McConnell's round-the-world trip. He would have been, more or less, a generation older than John W. McConnell.
