        The Berinstein family were outstanding promoters of the game of bowling. Bill worked for his father, Hall of Famer Benjamin, as manager of the Syracuse Bowling Center until Ben passed away in 1965. At the time he became proprietor of the Syrause Bowling Center, the Sunset Bowling Center in Utica ( until 1981 ) , the State Bowling Center in Binghamton and in 1981 the Lakeview Bowling Center in Liverpool.

        He was one of the originators of the Central New York Gold Pin Fun Centers. This group helped to bring Bowling for Dollars, Championship Bowling and the TV- Challenge bowling show for juniors to TV-3 in 1978.He along with Mary Jane Egloff helped to start the very popular Women's Masters tournament and the Women's Alibi tournament.

        Many times he donated the use of his lanes for the Seniors tournament, the Cystic Fibrosis Bowl for Breath tournament, Christmas fund raisers for the Boy Scouts and organized bowling for the blind, mentally challenged and school children. William was also very instrumental in bringing professional bowling to Syracuse.
